Taxis New York Style

No need for taxis of the mechanical variety today. Cruised around the high end shops in downtown Manhattan on foot this morning after coffee (ordinary) and bagel (huge and good) at Juniors, just off Times Square. It’s a cheerful, bustling diner sporting bright red seats and banquettes, and friendly staff.

Everything moves in Times Square. There are massive high definition ads constantly streaming on every above ceiling height surface.

Hi tech, high resolution large screen imaging means that every big end company with something to sell competes for an ever more striking effect or clever angle. How much does it cost per second to put your product up there? I guess it must pay off or companies wouldn’t be doing it.
