From show time to work time: Seven days of Noosa Open Studios behind me. Inviting people into my work and studio space always feels a little daunting. I’m more comfortable working in the garage than showcasing my work, but I do appreciate the visits.

Some visitors take a real interest in what I’m doing. It’s always wonderful to talk to other artists too, be they hobbyists, professionals or just starting out. My aim in opening the garage is to give visitors an enjoyable, fun experience and to share ideas.
Talking with two artist/curators gave me some really useful feedback, not to mention tweaking my studio space display. Bottom line is I’ve got to push myself to be more visible. Also create a coherent body of work.
Now I’m all fired up about new projects and looking for other avenues to establish an audience for my work.
