White, orange and mint blue
These are the colours of the Bay of Fires, a marine conservation area on the north-east Coast of Tasmania. Granite bedrock, ground into fine grains, becomes the pristine, soft white sand of the beach. The water is ice-cold blue, but so clear. Nature brings together what we humans call a complimentary colour scheme. Bursts of orange lichen cover the rounded granite boulders to complete the beautiful picture.
