These paintings evolve from natural forms. Most of the reference material comes from photographs, mainly my own.  I take the photographs to capture colours, textures and forms from nature, rather than to be beautiful images in their own right.

The photographs spark a creative process, and resultant paintings may not resemble the original photo. Paintings take on their own life. I simply allow them to move in the way they want to go.
